Kenya to increase US flower exports
Kenyan flower farmers are moving to exploit a huge market potential by increasing their flower exports to the United States.
According to Kenya Flower Council chief executive officer Jane Ngige, Kenyan flower farmers are seeking ways to increase their exports to the US which have remained significantly low in the last two years.
Small scale farmers to elect tea factory directors
NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 7 – Thousands of small -scale tea farmers across the country who are affiliated to Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) will go to the polls on Tuesday to elect directors for their factory companies.
About 190,000 farmers out of a total of 560,000 who are the shareholders will elect two directors from each of the 54 factory companies, making a total of 108 seats being contested.

House team clears sale plan for Hilton and InterCon hotels
Two leading global hotel chains have been cleared to acquire substantial interests in the Hilton and InterContinental hotels in Nairobi.
The green light follows a proposal by the Treasury to give the Hilton Group of Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Corporation and other shareholders in the establishments priority in buying the shares being offloaded by the Kenya Tourist Development Corporation.
Mining shares give JSE a good nudge
Mining shares nudged the JSE all-share index up just after noon on Thursday‚ as the SA share market looked set to wrap up the year on solid ground.
At 12.35pm‚ the all share index was up 0.30% to 39‚306.75 points. Platinum stocks climbed 0.78% for a 12% gain this month‚ while resources have risen 0.63% on the day.
