GES: Kenyan firm that makes solar-powered bikes

A Kenyan company has come up with a solar-charged electric motorbike, an engineering revolution that could significantly change transportation.
Pfoofy Power & Light Limited has also set up one solar-charging station to address the demand for motorbike transport, famously known as bodaboda, in South Nyakach-Kisumu County.
In what resembles the US techpreneur Elon Musk's electric car maker Tesla Motors, the local firm has eyes set on revolutionising transport by cutting over-reliance on fuel fossils.
Kenya: U.S. Investors to Seek County Deals

A group of US investors attending the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit have expressed interest in seeking business opportunities and partnerships outside Nairobi.
The investors who arrived in the country on Monday, five days ahead of this weekend's summit, have held forums with the business community in Nairobi.
Led by the US National Business League, the team of 20 said it will visit Mombasa, Nakuru and possibly Baringo and Bomet counties.
Kenya's Green Energy Output Doubled in 2014 - Report

Kenya has outpaced its African peers in renewable energy production, and has been ranked top five globally in geothermal energy investments.
A renewables global status report 2015 shows Kenya increased its green energy output by 358 megawatts, doubling its stock to about 600 megawatts last year.
"Many developing countries are under pressure to rapidly increase energy generation capacities to address growing demand, to meet energy access challenges, and to foster economic development," the 251-page report states.
Tatu City project finally takes off the ground

Tatu City, Kenya’s biggest privately funded real estate project, is finally taking shape, with civil works set to begin after a ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday.
Sixty per cent of the first phase of the 150-acre Kijani Ridge had already been bought by home owners including Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo.
Kijani has been subdivided into 145 half acre and 156 quarter acre plots. “My home will be in Tatu and I welcome all those who want to live next to Kiambu’s first governor as a neighbour,” said Mr Kabogo.
During the launch that was attended by United States Ambassador Robert Godec and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, Rendeavour an American real estate company, showcased what is set to be a premier gated community with spacious individual serviced plots.
